To use Facebook chat within the iChat application, it is very simple and straight forward.
First, create a new “Jabber” account within iChat preferences. As the Login name (or Username) specify your Facebook username that can be seen in your Account Settings on facebook.com. It should look like this:
[username]@chat.facebook.com
Obviously then you need to put in your normal Facebook password, and also you will need to add specific server settings.
Server address: chat.facebook.com
Port: 5222
And that’s it! Enjoy!
